Things To Do & Nearby Attractions

Sitters:  You came to relax ... find a comfy Adirondack chair lakeside and soak up the sun, read that book you brought with you or just gaze out over the lake and do nothing ... after all, that's what you came for!

Golfers:   The Indian Lake Golf Course is within walking distance of our cabins!  Bring your clubs or rent them at the course ... You'll enjoy the beautiful scenery of this lakeview 18 hole golf course.  A variety of golf courses are a short drive from the cabins.

Fishers:  Indian Lake has great pike and walleye fishing.  Some say there are terrific perch and bass fishing holes around the lake too!  Bring your boat and put in just around the corner.  Don't forget about charters and salmon fishing on Lake Michigan, too!

Walkers:  Stay at Indian Lake and follow the roads to see where they go; you can walk along the lake or head the other direction that will take you into the countryside - or, slip into town to walk on Manistique's Boardwalk following the shore of Lake Michigan for almost two miles.  Visit Bishop Baraga's Mission Site (a short walk from your cabin).  Within a hearty walking distance of the resort is Rainey Reserve - you can meander through the paths of the wetlands reserve, climb the observation deck and checkout the sunrise or sunset.  This is just a glimpse of Upper Michigan at its best.

Cyclists:  Bring your mountain bikes and bicycles and backpacks!  There are bike trails in the following counties:  Alger, Baraga, Chippewa, Delta, Dickinson, Gogebic, Houghton, Iron, Keweenaw, Luce, Mackinac, Marquette, Menominee, Ontonagon and Schoolcraft.  You're guaranteed to find something that will excite you!

Motorcycle Riders:  There are miles & miles of gorgeous scenery in the U.P. Nature or history .. lake shores, lighthouses and waterfalls ... we've got it all.  And the weather - summer weather is mid-70's to low-80's with barely any humidity.  Bring your helmet, ride on up or trailer your bike ... see for yourself!

Birders:  The Seney Wildlife Refuge provides a wonderful opportunity to checkout Michigan birds in their natural habitat.  Or, adventure out on your own ..... The Upper Peninsula has a wide variety of birds you can view.  Bring your binoculars and check them out!

Casinos:  After adventuring outside in the daytime, save some time and energy for a casino visit.  Manistique has one casino and there are several others within an easy drive.
